Supplier qualification
Capability, relevant equipment, communication, documentation discipline and fit for the requested product are reviewed case-by-case.
Quality coordination
MetalPartSource coordinates supplier qualification, material records, inspection and release documentation around the requirements agreed for each order. We do not rely on blanket certification claims or unverified factory credentials.
Scope / 01
The required evidence varies by product, customer and project. Documentation availability and inspection scope are confirmed before commitment and recorded in the quotation or order review.
Capability, relevant equipment, communication, documentation discipline and fit for the requested product are reviewed case-by-case.
Material test certificates can be requested where applicable to the material, standard and agreed order scope.
The required link between supplied items, heat or lot references, markings and accompanying records is agreed before commitment and reviewed before release. The available evidence and scope are confirmed for the selected supply route and order.
Inspection points, sampling and reporting are aligned to the drawing, tolerances and agreed acceptance plan.
Independent inspection can be coordinated when specified by the buyer, project or internal release process.
Outstanding technical and documentation points are reviewed before dispatch so evidence is part of the delivery.
Working note
MetalPartSource does not state that it personally holds an unverified manufacturing certification, owns a factory, or can satisfy every inspection regime. Applicable standards, supplier credentials, test scope and records must be confirmed for the specific RFQ.
Release planning
Use this planning example to make your document request specific. Confirm the required evidence and its availability for your order before commitment.
On a small screen, swipe or scroll sideways to view all columns.
| Evidence area | What to specify in the RFQ | What to check before release |
|---|---|---|
| Material record | Specified titanium grade, material/product standard and requested certificate type where applicable. | Match the record to the agreed grade, material form and heat or lot references. |
| Part identity | Drawing or standard, revision, item number, quantity and any approved deviations. | Check that the inspection and identification records reference the approved part definition. |
| Dimensional inspection | Critical dimensions, threads, tolerances, sampling and report format. | Check coverage of the agreed features and resolve exceptions before release. |
| Witness and hold points | Third-party involvement, stages to witness, notice requirements and release authority. | Confirm the inspection route and required approvals before the affected production stage. |
| Marking and packaging | Required item/lot identification, labels and any mixed-lot restrictions. | Check the agreed link between delivered items, labels and accompanying records. |
Buying questions
Agree the material records, item identification and inspection evidence before quoting. A certificate name alone does not define the complete release package.
No. A material test certificate is material evidence; it does not by itself confirm the finished part dimensions, thread fit or compliance with a drawing revision. Specify material documentation and finished-part inspection separately, then confirm which records and item references are included in the agreed release package.
No unconditional promise is made. MTC or EN 10204 3.1 documentation can be requested where applicable to the material, governing standard and order scope. The requested document type and its availability must be confirmed for the selected supplier route before commitment. Do not treat a general website statement as a certificate for a particular order.
Define the required link between the source material record, heat or lot reference, finished-item identification and accompanying documents. State marking, packaging and any mixed-lot restrictions in the RFQ. The available records and the required traceability scope are reviewed for the specific supply route; the word traceability alone is not a complete requirement.
Before quotation and production planning. Identify the inspection party, tests or features to witness, notification requirements, hold points and release authority. Supplier access, the proposed inspection scope, schedule and commercial terms must be reviewed and agreed before the order is committed.
Include your required document list with the RFQ. For a drawing-based item, also identify the controlled revision and critical features in the custom component review.
